Whole-Home Lighting & Smart-Control Renovation
A full renovation and re-wiring of a Coquitlam family home. The goal: warm, layered lighting in every main-floor room, controlled from the right spots, with the wiring roughed in properly for the extras the owners want to add later.
What we did
- LED pot lights through the living room, dining room, kitchen and bedrooms, with home runs to planned switch locations for SMART lighting controls.
- Pendant fixtures over the kitchen island, plus puck lighting in the built-in hutch and coffee bar.
- Low-voltage strip lighting under cabinets, with the low-voltage wiring hidden for a clean finished look.
- Receptacles built into cabinetry and the kitchen island, with BX protection where wiring runs through the island.
- Smart-switch home runs planned up front and labelled at the junction box with a smart panel at the main entry.
- Wire pulled for motorized blinds and routed to the attic, ready for the motors and controller later.

Barn & Yard Lighting and Electrical Safety Upgrade
A working horse property with ageing wiring, splash-exposed receptacles and dark corners around the barn, shavings area and lanes. We made the unsafe items safe first, then lit the property so people and animals can get around after dark.
What we did
- Replaced a splash-exposed receptacle with a weatherproof box and in-use cover
- Made an exposed wire termination safe inside a proper junction box
- Photocell LED lighting on the main barn and over the shavings area, with fixtures re-aimed to cover the walkways
- Motion lighting on the indoor arena, with hardwired switches for the exterior lights
- Strip lighting in the tractor and tack stalls
- A weatherproof receptacle for hay deliveries, plus string lights along the fence line
- Control wiring labelled clearly so the next person can follow it

Before & After

How We Work
The Details You Don’t See After the Drywall Goes On
Labelled & mapped
Junction boxes, feeds and circuits are labelled and sketched as we go, so future service calls take minutes instead of guesswork.
Protected where it counts
BX armour and weatherproof covers wherever wiring is exposed to knocks, water or dust.
Roughed-in for what’s next
Blind motors, low-voltage lighting and smart-switch home runs are planned before the walls close, so upgrades later don’t mean opening them again.
